This award tops off the celebration of LIASA La Industrial Algodonera Centenary

 LIASA La Industrial Algodonera has been awarded with the Leading Industry Award in the Vth edition of the National Fashion Industry Awards, which were celebrated on Wednesday at the Costume Museum in Madrid.This Leading Industry Award acknowledges the most prominent company in the area of the production of all types of yarns, fabrics, dyes, hides, footwear components and other raw materials and components, as a starting point in the process of productive transformation and, consequently, its role in the value chain due to the diversification of its supply, the strengthening of the productivity, the improvement in its performance and its role as a supplier.Our CEO Jaime Cabré was the person in charge of receiving the award from Her Majesty the Queen Letizia, and subsequently greeting Mrs Reyes Maroto, Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism; as well as Raul Blanco, the Secretary General of Industry and Small and Medium Industry.This award is the icing on the cake of a year of celebration of the company’s centenary. During 2018 LIASA has taken part in different events in recognition of its trajectory, with important personalities, suppliers, clients and its own network of collaborators.The technical assessment committee of the National Fashion Industry Awards had a meeting to select twenty finalists among all the applications received in the present call.Finally the winners were:- Innovative Entrepreneurship Award: this award honours the enterprising person or entity that has excelled in having introduced new concepts in the Fashion Industry in any of its areas, acknowledging its ability to provide innovative solutions which have enabled it to position itself within the market. Winner: Oteyza.- Leading Industry Award: this award acknowledges the most prominent company in the area of the production of all types of yarns, fabrics, dyes, hides, footwear components and other raw materials and components, as a starting point in the process of productive transformation and, consequently, its role in the value chain due to the diversification of its supply, the strengthening of the productivity, the improvement in its performance and its role as a supplier. Winner: LIASA – La Industrial Algodonera.- Best Footwear Industry, best Textile and Clothing Industry and best Fashion Accessories Industry Awards: these awards acknowledge those companies of the different sub-sectors that stand out for reaching business excellence. Winners: best Footwear Industry: Victoria (Calzados Nuevo Milenio, S.L.); best Textile and Clothing Industry: Dolores Promesas; and best Fashion Accessories Industry: Reliquiae.- Communication Award: this award honours professionals and media which stand out for their work in the promotion of the Fashion Industry sector within the area of communication and information, contributing to spread its activity. Winner: Mrs Mercedes Junco Calderón.- Promotion in the Fashion Industry Award: this award acknowledges the professional or the entity, both nationally and internationally, with a prominent role in the promotion of the Spanish fashion industry, thus achieving social recognition and global promotion. Winner: Leonor Pérez Pita.- Honorary Award for a Large Fashion Company for Camper, for the importance of this company as a national reference in the footwear sector and in the fashion industry. The company, founded in 1877 by Majorcan Antonio Fluxá, employs over two thousand people and has shops in more than 40 countries.- Honorary Award to the Fashion Designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, considering that the work of this designer combines three concepts that define her: being a pioneer, her professional trajectory and the continuity of her work.          The award given to LIASA La Industrial Algodonera has been announced on TV Canal Camp:
