Innovation, sustainability, and decarbonisation: LIASA stands out at Advanced Factories 2025.

Barcelona, 11th April 2025 – Sustainability and innovation in the textile industry were the main topics at the Industry 4.0 Congress, held from 8th to 10th April at Fira Barcelona – Gran Vía, as part of Advanced Factories 2025. This event, considered one of the most significant in Southern Europe for industrial automation and digital transformation, brought together over 38,000 professionals and 570 leading companies from the sector.

LIASA, La Industrial Algodonera, took an active part in this international forum. Our CEO, Jaime Cabré, spoke at the roundtable titled “Sustainable Fashion and Textiles – Zero Emissions in the Textile Industry,” sharing experiences and strategies to move towards more environmentally-friendly production.

During his speech, Cabré highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability across all business processes, from selecting recycled materials to implementing technologies that enable advanced traceability and a reduction in the carbon footprint. "Decarbonising textiles is a long journey that only those who truly believe in it will succeed... does the consumer believe in it?" he reflected.

The roundtable also featured prominent experts from the sector, who agreed that the transition to a zero-emission textile industry requires close collaboration between companies, institutions, and consumers. The need for precise data across the supply chain to identify areas for improvement was emphasised, as well as the importance of public policies supporting this sustainable transformation.

Advanced Factories 2025 has firmly established itself as a key meeting point for Industry 4.0, addressing topics such as automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. LIASA’s participation in this event reinforces our commitment to responsible innovation and the circular economy, core pillars for building a more sustainable textile future.
